Current 6th, 7th, and 8th grade families are invited to apply for the AVID program.
What is AVID? AVID is an in-school academic support program that prepares students for college and success. This is an elective course for 24-25 school year.
Who is AVID For? Grade 7-9 students with B, C, and some D grades who have the desire to attend college and the willingness to work hard and improve.
AVID Opportunities: Guest speakers, field trips, tutoring, writing assistance, college prep, scholarship support, and team building.
If you are the first in your family to attend college, you might consider applying to the AVID program. AVID helps students build the specific abilities they need to thrive in college and in their careers. Accepted students must take the AVID elective course and are encouraged to pursue honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses in high school. In exchange, you will be given additional academic, social, and emotional assistance to help you thrive in high school, college, and your future profession.
