The goal of Physical Education is to develop physically educated inpiduals who have the knowledge, skills and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of healthy physical activity. A quality health education and physical education program promote each student's optimum physical, mental, emotional, and social development. Effective programs are grounded in scientifically-based research and public health knowledge. They are student-centered and utilize multiple learning theories and models to support and promote health-enhancing behaviors. As a result, students are empowered to develop and demonstrate increasingly sophisticated knowledge, skills, attitudes, and practices.
