Mentor of the Month

Congratulations to the Trenton Public School District Human Resources Mentors of the Month!

February Mentor of the Month: Jennifer Featherston, ESL Teacher at Holland Middle School – Nominated by Noah Myers, Sheltered Social Studies Teacher at Holland Middle School

”She is always there for support, gives me a lot of advice, and has helped me become a better teacher for my ESL students. Also, she is an excellent mentor because the students love her and respect her, as well as students trying harder because of that closer relationship. Even though she has been teaching for 16 years she is not discouraged or ready to throw in the towel, but comes in every day enthusiastic which can even be infectious for the staff and students. Whenever I have needed help whether for planning a specific activity/lesson, getting behaviors better, or just needing to vent she has been there. Mrs. Featherston is the definition of a model mentor teacher!”

“Debra Amon deserves to be recognized because she helps me where I need help, but also challenges me to figure things out on my own, too. She is available whenever I need her, even if it is on the weekends, to answer any questions I might have or tell me who I need to speak to about XYZ. In addition, she has become one of my work friends who I truly respect and admire.”
