As we approach the end of the school year, the Technology Department is preparing to collect all district-issued student iPads, power bricks, and charging cables.
Our 4-person tech teams will be arriving at your child’s school to process and secure these devices. To ensure a smooth process and avoid any financial penalties, please review the requirements below:
Our Collection Window: Device processing will officially begin across the district on Monday, June 8. Your child's specific school building will notify students of their exact collection date and classroom schedule.
What Your Child Must Bring to School:
- The District iPad: Kept inside its protective case.
- Device Condition: All personal stickers, decals, skins, charms, and decorations must be completely removed from the device and case prior to return. The district-issued protective case itself must NOT be removed.
- The District Power Brick & USB-C Cable: Placed inside a Ziploc bag, cleanly labeled with your child's full name and student ID.
Financial Responsibility & AUP Replacement Costs: Per District Policy 5513 (Care of School Property), parents and guardians are financially responsible for the replacement or repair of lost, stolen, or damaged technology assets. While the district protection plan covers a one-time accidental damage replacement, parents are fully responsible for costs beyond that, or any intentional damage and neglect.
Unreturned items or damaged equipment will result in an immediate invoice sent to the parent/guardian at the following district-standard rates:
- Lost / Unreturned iPad (Entire Device): $429.00
- Lost / Unreturned Power Cable & Charger: $40.00
- Damaged Screen (Glass/Digitizer & LCD): $239.00
- Damaged Charging Port: $89.00
Please speak with your child tonight to ensure their iPad is cleaned, personal decorations are removed, and all charging accessories are accounted for and ready for return starting June 8. Thank you for your partnership in protecting our district's technology investment!
Sincerely,
The Technology Department
