This statement responds to misrepresentations being made regarding the Trenton Board of Education’s policies and practices for the upcoming 2017-18 school year. Please note that NJEA representatives and all District association leaders were invited to a confirmed meeting on August 31st to discuss any concerns related to these matters. Except for the Trenton Administrators and Supervisors Association, all other associations declined to attend the meeting.

Washington Elementary Reading Campaign 2016-2017

Our School Goal is to read 334,000 books to include a variety of texts. Each student will read 25 books each quarter and record books read on their Reading Log. Reading Logs will be checked by the teacher throughout each quarter. Students who meet their 25 book goal each quarter will be recognized at the Awards Assembly. All students who read 100 books by June 16, 2017, will throw a pie in Principal Yarde’s face at the school assembly!!!!

Nuestra Meta de la Escuela es leer 334,000 libros para incluir una variedad de textos. Cada estudiante leerá 25 libros cada trimestre y registrará los libros leídos en su Registro de Lectura. Los registros de lectura serán revisados por el maestro a lo largo de cada trimestre. Los estudiantes que cumplan su objetivo de 25 libros cada trimestre serán reconocidos en la entrega de Premios. Todos los estudiantes que lean 100 libros antes del 16 de junio de 2017, lanzarán un pastel en el rostro del director Yarde en la asamblea de la escuela!!!!
