Student Attendance Contest

Student Attendance Poster/Video Contest

The Trenton Board of Education is excited to announce the Student Attendance
Poster/Video Contest! We are giving schools the opportunity to creatively express
why student attendance matters. We encourage every school to participate. Each
school that participates will have a chance to win a value prize of $500. Students
can work individually, or in groups. A panel of judges will be selected to review
submissions. A school representative should be nominated to collect or capture
student submissions. Parent Liaisons will assist with these submissions from their
perspective sites. All videos and pictures should be submitted to
dholguin@trenton.k12.nj.us by Monday April 1st.
Students can choose to create a poster, poster ad and/or video. The video can
include other pictures, testimonials, or quotes that showcases why student
attendance matters.
• Schools, educators, staff, parents, etc., are encouraged to use
#EverydayMatters_tps, #SchoolEveryDay_TPS or when sharing on social
media platforms to promote the contest, e.g. the creative process, the
winning posters, written submissions, videos, artwork, special moments, or
other attendance related activities
• Schools are encouraged to share the winning images on their individual web
pages, in electronic newsletters, in cards, calendars, and in correspondence
• Schools can host a classroom door poster contest and submit pictures
As students engage in the poster contest, there are a number of ways
schools can support them:
• Schools are encouraged to include positive messaging about the importance
of outstanding attendance on their marquees, in communications to
parents/caregivers, and in their daily messaging to students
• Schools can display posters throughout the remainder of the year
Submissions are judged according to the following criteria:
Must include attendance campaign slogan- Everyday matters.
Relevance to the theme – Attendance Awareness
Creativity and originality
Visual clarity and appeal
