The Trenton Restorative Academy (TRA) will function
as an intervention program for students to develop holistic social and
emotional skills in a least restrictive environment. The goal of this
intervention is to ensure that behavioral challenges do not negatively impact
student academic achievement. The purpose of this initiative is to provide a
positive, nurturing environment for students that have not been successful in a
traditional educational setting. The TRA will promote orderly, disciplined
classrooms to allow students to make consistent academic progress while
learning how to effectively self-regulate their behavior(s).
The program will provide a high quality educational environment that address the social, emotional, and intellectual supports designed to keep students academically on track; address the specific behavioral issues resulting in the student’s placement to a transitional program; and provide transitional skills and supports for students to return to their sending schools while maintaining positive behavioral, social, and academic progress.
