World Languages

If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head.
If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.
(Nelson Mandela)

One language is never enough!

All students taking a world language course in the Trenton Public Schools will be able to use it in addition to English to engage in meaningful conversation, to understand and interpret spoken and written language, and to present information, concepts, and ideas while also gaining an understanding of the perspectives of other cultures. It is expected that through language study, students will make connections with other content areas, compare the language and culture studied with their own, and participate in home and global communities (7.1 CCCS). Trenton Public Schools offer courses in French and Spanish in grades 6 -12 in the following schools:

Dunn Middle School – Spanish
Hedgepeth/Williams Middle School – Spanish
Kilmer Middle School – Spanish
Rivera Middle School – Spanish
Daylight/Twilight (9-12) – Spanish
Trenton Central High School – Chambers (9-12) – French & Spanish
Trenton Central High School – West (9-12) – French, Spanish and Chinese
